Over the boat already. I used to love Bangkok boats!

Blast From The Past

Below is just a little blast from my past.  The few days prior to me visiting Thailand more than 5 years ago now seems kind of funny.  Following that I went back to Australia to study, then came back to Thailand, which is where I have been living for about a year and a half.  Fascinating where life takes us.  Click the text to go to that part of my archive and read the epic journey I faced when I was so much younger.

An anxious wait

Today has seen a new sense of urgency for my leaving. I only have 3 days until I leave the country and I would really just like to get my journey underway. My room still hasn't been filled yet but I have lost all care for this god-forsaken room. My budget seems to be inline anyway so I just want to get going.I had the pleasure of briefly going out on the town last night. 2 of my house mates and I went to a pub in Brisbane. I am terrible at having a good time when I go out. Always concerned about peoples thoughts and opinions. The night ended after 35 dollars of bear, Macca's and a train home.I put my sudden pessimism down to last night. I'm just not party material at the moment. Maybe my trip will change that. Then again maybe partying isn't really a skill I'm interested in.

New Found Inspiration To Be Creative

Saphan Thaksin BTS Station, Bangkok

I'm so excited.  Just 10.5 hrs left of work and I'm off to buy myself a Camera with my GF.  The reason for this relatively spontaneous buy is that I have decided I want to start writing films.  I'm 32 and you would imagine that I should almost have had my career sorted out by now.  However, that is most definitely not the case.  And as strange as this directions sounds, I feel like this will be the perfect new hobby with the potential of expanding beyond just being a hobby.

It's astounding the extent to which independent artists can produce films of a professional standard.  In some cases we can even do better than the professional film industry.  Can you believe it?  Just search out there for anything relating to short films (my top youtube key words would be: Final Cut Pro, "edited in", short film, 550D).  There is a lot out there, you just have to look.

So my first films will be camera tests and little lessons to get me up to scratch on my standard camera techniques and editing.  But, following this small stint I plan on writing a short documentary about a friend of mine.  She doesn't know it yet, but this is what I am working on.

Prior to doing so I really want to try build a presense on the net.  So, please feel free to say hi and offer me any advise you can.  Also, if you would like to do a links swap, please just ask.  We're all in this together.

Peace.

P.S.  I wrote this at work and can't be assed proof reading so sorry for the typos and spelling errors.

I'm back. Where did I go?

This is brief, but a warm sense is flowing and I'm glad to be back.  This platform is back in my hands and I'm looking forward to updating more regularly.

For those just visiting now for the first time, please feel free to check out my archives.  Lots of partly interesting stories from years passed.  I can't wait to let you all know what has been happening.
